A Celebration: The Intersection of Black History Month and Women’s History Month

February 26, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 7:30 pm

FREE

Award winning blues musician, Gaye Adegbalola, will perform a mini-concert of songs by and for black women.  The lyrics chronicle the history of working class black women in the 1920s and 30s.  Gaye will draw from songs by Ma Rainey, Bessie Smith, Alberta Hunter, Sippie Wallace, Ida Cox, or others to document the era.  She will then perform a couple of her original songs to share the continuation of the blues from utilizing contemporary content.

Sponsored by ArtsLIVE! and dedicated to the performing arts.

Live on Gaye Adegbalola’s Facebook page.
